I would like to thank all of you that have inquired about my health, 2010 was the pits to say the least.
On 30th December 2009 i was rushed to the emergency room, my gall bladder was playing up pretty bad, after they examined me i was put in a bed drugged up and in the ward. My gall bladder, liver and bile duct all were infected and ready to explode, i was operated on at 8am on the 31st and i was home by 9pm on the 31st, i was in a state still my liver and bile duct infected. Great New Years Eve.
I have had arthiritus in my hip for about 6 years it was getting worse and worse, in pain all the time in April i went to the Dr to find out how bad it was, he said it was very severe and i should do something about it so on June 14th i had a hip replacement, after the surgery when they moved me from the operating table to the guerney they dislocated the hip, they came with the xray machine and found that it was dislocated, they started pushing and pulling on my leg trying to get it back in place and they were not gentle. They got me up the 2nd day but i was still drugged up as they had to give me more anesthetic to put the hip back in.
They sent me home on the 3rd day, I was told only put my big toe to the ground while using the walker, after a week i went back to see the surgeon he said looks like things are fine, i complained about stuff going on in my foot and ankle it was really uncomfortable, he said it would be fine, the flollowing week i was back to emergency and they gave me an ultra sound and said nothing there. Becasue we have a tall car it was very difficult to get into it i pulled all the muscles in my back and front, to help alleviate it i used one of those hot pads that get warm as you wear it, it had 8 oval heaters, i slept with it on as the heat helps. The next morning i felt pain in my back, my husband said there was 8 oval blisters on my back, could not sit back because of the pain. Saw the surgeon a week later and said it looks fine, a week later my leg had swollen so much i know have stretch marks on my leg. We went straight to the emergency as the pain was driving me crazy, said i had a very large blood clot and was admitted immediately it was on its way to my lungs, it had passed my hip and into my tummy area. I was in the hospital for 5 days. Anyway more things took place but i am now feeling a lot better, i still have a little way to go for my leg to be right, still cannot do some things. My leg has now gone down thank goodness, I am now back to knitting and doing most things. They have told me to be careful as my hip can dislocate again very easily, the reason why is because they dislocated it in the beginning. The best thing to come out of this, is that i am pain free, in all of this i never did have pain in my hip after the surgery, it was all in my leg caused from the blood clot caused by the dislocation, what a difference no pain makes and no more limping, i had limped for nearly 6 years. Again thankyou all for thinking about me. Helen

You really did have a rough time of it. I am sorry that you had to go through all of it, but really glad you are back to knitting and posting. Take care of yourself and don't mess up that hip again. We miss you when we don't hear from you.
Wow, you did have a bad year. Glad to hear you're pain-free with your hip. Thanks for giving us an update because you had been so quiet (which is out of character for you!).
